OPERATION PINK
Christmas appeal
The Salvation Army is one of the largest providers of accommodation for homeles men, women and families across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. More than just providing a roof over someone's head the social service centres, or ‘hostels' aim to be places of change, with staff who go the extra mile to deliver people-focused and life-changing services that dramatically boost the self-esteem, health and employability of participants.
In Dundee, The Salvation Army have Strathmore Lodge, a 25 bed hostel and Burnside Mill, a 20 bed resettlement unit. They offer support and temporary accommodation to single, homeless adults, who tend to be, in the main, male. They also offer support to rough sleepers.
For the OPERATION PINK Christmas appeal we are going to provide Christmas Stockings for the Strathmore Lodge and Burnside Mill service users. To be of most benefit these should contain things like:
-
Wooly hats
-
Scarves
-
Gloves
-
Socks
-
Toiletries
-
Some treats e.g.chocolate and sweets
-
Anything else you think would be useful
Please note the service users are mostly male but there are also some females.
Closing date of appeal: Sunday 5th December
The Pink Bucket will be located in The Station for donations for OPERATION PINK
